Positive figures for house prices in Alicante |

What we at Mediter Real Estate for nearly 12 months have witnessed, can now be read in the statistics for housing prices. In the Alicante province, prices fell "only" 1.9% in 2011. On a national basis, prices fell 6.8%. We have with Mediter Real Estate seen attractive properties with good locations not have fallen in price in 2011, while some of them even had small increases.

Continued reduced VAT for new property buyers in Spain |

In the second half of 2011 new homes in Spain were sold at a reduced VAT from 8% to 4%. The Legal text of the VAT on new homes in 2012 was the first days of January 2012 written quite unclear. It seemed to be only residents in Spain who stood to benefit from the VAT reduction. This is now written entirely clear, and applies to all in 2012. When you build major residential area around Torrevieja,the local plans requires to have around 10% of the plot is transferred to the town hall. When you in Spain build larger property developments, or as in this case, Spain's largest theme and amusement park, you must bring the project to public hearing in 45 days. Mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Alfonso Ceron Fernandez, has announced the hearing will start from the overall presentation of the park from next week.

A new market on Tuesdays will soon see the light of day. Parts of the parking lot at the International Marina will be the place of the market. Total expected to be 100 stalls, where you will find primarily local vendors. Condado de Alhama finally gets a club house |

Since the Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course opened in Condado de Alhama, the interest in the course has been very good. The course is described as among the best in the area but have not had a decent clubhouse. This is now being changed. After the banking association, IRM, acquired a range of activities from Polaris World is continuously made improvements.

Yesterday, on 20th November, was held parliamentary elections in Spain. Not unexpectedly was it the opposition party Partido Popular (PP), which was the big vote winner in the election. The new man in charge of Spain is Mariano Rajoy. The outgoing minister president, Jose Luis Zapatero had already announced before the election, that he would not continue. At the highest point in Pau-1 in Villamartin TM has presented its plans for how the project Linnea Sol is going to look like. In total, TM will build 196 properties. Many properties will have stunning views over the Mediterranean and Villamartin golf course. The complex comes with the beautiful TM style pool and gardens. In addition there are planned a paddle-tennis court.

A few days ago the board for airline Jet2.com came to visit Murcia's new airport, Corvera. Jet2.com already flies to and from the Murcia region, from the existing San Javier airport. San Javier to be closed and therefore it was expected that Jet2.com will use the new airport. While it is hoped in Corvera that Ryanair will open 25 routes from the new airport. Have you wondered about how the Titanic looked like in reality, you will now get a chance. Titanic sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York on 14 April 1912. At that time, the "unsinkable" ship, with its 269 meters was the worlds largest passenger ship. 103 years after the ship sank, you will now dry-shoed be able to see the ship in Paramount Pictures new theme park in Murcia.

Property tax is lowered in Torrevieja |

Good news for homeowners in Torrevieja. The IBI tax is on the 5th year in a row on the way down. The town hall will give homeowners more room in their economy, compared to hard times in the property market for sellers. Originally, the tax was 0.8%, while it has now fallen to 0.462%. New build in Torrevieja, will make it out for the losses of the present IBI tax.

Tuesday was the day when Paramount Pictures Vice-President, Mike Bartok came to Spain to sign the agreement of the them park, and lift slightly the veil of how that attraction will look like. Investments are expected to reach 1 billion Euros and will be employing more than 22,000 people, while construction will employ 16,500. Watch presentation video here.
